How to get to the Port of Miami:

Airport to Port of Miami-
Many cruise passengers go on fly cruises from Miami meaning they have to fly into Miami International or Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International.
From Miami InternationalAirport-
Uber/Lyft- One of the cheapest options and most convenient. Rate: approx. $20. The convenience of being able to call a car when you’re ready and not have to be on a tight schedule.
Taxi- rate $27 - based on the ride, not per person.
Hotel shuttle service- Many hotels do a shuttle service as part of their package (see below the hotel options)
Cruise line transfers- Cruise lines offer a transfer but come at an additional cost unless stated as part of your package - per person not per ride. Can offer convenience but can be restrictive as only run on the day you’re going to cruise. This won’t be an option if you are arriving a day or two earlier than the cruise departs. Average cost per person: $21 one way
Independent transfers-

Much cheaper than cruise line shuttles at an average price $10. Varies between $10-$25 per passenger. Can be discounts for additional passengers.
Public transportation-
Take Metrorail’s Orange Line to downtown Miami’s Freedom Tower stop (approx. 30 mins). Then hop on Miami Trolley’s Coral Way route to take you to port. This drops off at every port every 15-20 minutes from early to mid-evening every day apart from Sundays. The cost is approx. $2.25 per person.
Driving - It is 8 miles from the cruise port and will take 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Use the address: 1015 N. America Way, Miami, Florida 33132 as that is what the SatNav will recognise.
From Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport-
Driving - It is 25 miles from the cruise port and will take 35-60 minutes depending on traffic. Again, use the address: 1015 N. America Way, Miami, Florida 33132 as that is what the SatNav will recognise.
Uber/Lyft- The fare is approx. $45 per ride (not per person). Less expensive than a regular taxi.
Taxi- rate $75 each way - based on a ride not per person. Definitely offers convenience.
Cruise line transfers- Cruise lines offer a transfer but come at an additional cost. Can offer convenience but can be restrictive as only run on the day you’re going to cruise. This won’t be an option if you are arriving a day or two earlier than the cruise departs. Average cost per person: $35 one way per person.
Public transportation- Take the Tri-Rail (runs from the airport). Then take the Metrorail Green Line to Brickell Station. From there get on the free Miami Trolley to Port Miami.
A bus is also an option as it runs regularly (with Greyhound and Flixbus). Although very time-consuming, it can take 2 hours to arrive at Miami Cruise Port.
Port of Miami Parking:

- Official Port of Miami - Most convenient parking as you can park right next to the ship.
- Most cruise lines charge $22 per night
- Royal Caribbean charges $28 per night up to 5 days, $25 per night for 6+ days
Debit cards are not accepted but Credit cards including Visa, Mastercard & Amex are accepted as well as cash.
Disabled passengers in vehicles with specialised equipment can park for FREE! Those with a Florida disabled veteran license plate can also park FREE! This is due to a law in Florida. Contact the port before arrival (305-347-4800).

- Safe Cruise Parking: offers a great deal, gated and 24/7 security. Charged for the day you arrive and leave. Cost: $11.50 per day (including taxes & fees). Located 2.5 miles from Cruise Port but there is a free regular shuttle service that will take you there.
- Premier Cruise Parking: Garage offering multiple levels of covered parking. 2 miles from Cruise Port and also has a free shuttle service. Roughly $12.50 per day (including taxes and fees).

Miami Cruise terminal facilities:

Waiting lounge- All terminals have sitting areas. Some of the newer ones have additional seating areas in case of delays.
Toilets- each terminal has between 6-8 bathrooms depending on the size of the terminal.
Shops- Across the causeway linking Miami Port to the city there is the Bayside Marketplace. This is an open-air shopping and entertainment area. With over 120 shops and several dining options, there is enough to keep you busy before heading to the terminal. It is a 25-minute walk from the port or it is easy to hop on the Coral Way Trolley which is free. You will need to stop at the Biscayne Boulevard stop. Brickell City Centre is another place to go shopping and dine.
Internet access- All cruise terminals offer free Wi-Fi.
Disability access- The port has limited availability of wheelchairs for rental which means you may have to wait. But it is advised that arrangements should be made with the cruise line in advance if you require assistance.
