Sydney cruise ports see a lot of international passengers at all times of the year. There are two cruise terminals in Sydney. Many cruise ships dock at the White Bay Cruise Terminal but if they are too large to fit under the famous Sydney Harbour bridge, they dock at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.

How to get to Sydney Cruise Terminals
Both cruise terminals are easily accessible by taxis and public transport. Getting to the Overseas Passenger terminal is also accessible by shuttle.
From the airport:
To Overseas Passenger Terminal
Train
It is a 39 minute journey from International Airport Station and will cost roughly $13 - $17. You need to get the T8 toward City Circle via Airport. Change at Central station and head on the T2 towards City Circle via Museum and then you’ll get the train to Circular Quay. It is a short 10 minute walk up George Street towards the harbour.
Taxi
The fastest way to get to the cruise terminal is a 17 minute drive but it will cost between $40 - $50.
Bus
The cheapest way to get to the terminal from the airport. It will take 49 minutes and will cost between $3 - $5. You will need to get the N20 towards Park Near Pitt St. Then change at Central Station at stand G and get on the 343 towards City Circular Quay. Get off at Martin Place Station, Elizabeth St and then it is a 10 minute walk to the terminal.
Shuttle
This is the fastest and second cheapest way to get to the Overseas Passenger terminal. It will take 17 minutes and will cost between $10 - $20.
To White Bay Cruise Terminal
Train and Tram
This is the most recommended way and the second fastest. Get the T8 train to Central station and then change onto the tram line L1 towards Dulwich Hill. Get off at John Street Square Light Rail and then it is a 12 minute walk to the terminal.
Taxi
The fastest way to get to the terminal. It is a 16 minute drive and will cost between $35 - $50. This is the most convenient way to get there as it can drop you right off at the terminal. Great for those with accessibility requirements.
Bus
This is the cheapest way at $4 - $5 but it does take 1 hour and 10 minutes. Get the N20 towards Park near Pitt St. Get off at Central Station and walk to Stand M. Get on the 501 towards Parramatta. Get off at Victoria Rd before Maney St. Then walk to Robert St at Crescent St and get on the 442 towards Balmain East Wharf. Get off at Darling St opposite Gladstone Park. From there it is an 8 minute walk to the terminal.
Sydney Cruise Terminal Parking
There are no parking areas or places to pick up/drop off at the Overseas Passenger Terminal. Taxis will drop off on nearby streets.
There are no long term parking options at or near the White Bay Cruise Terminal. There is only drop off and pick up access.

As the Overseas passenger terminal is much busier, there are a wide amount of options to choose from with hotels being close by.
Overseas Passenger Terminal

- Four Seasons Hotel Sydney (400 yards from Overseas Passenger Terminal)

- The York by Swiss-Belhotel (0.5 miles from Overseas Passenger Terminal)
White Bay Cruise Terminal
As located at the other side of the bay, hotels are harder to find near the White Bay Cruise Terminal but there are still options such as Airbnb’s available nearby or the above hotel options more central.
Sydney Cruise Terminal Facilities
Being closer to the hustle and bustle of Sydney, the Overseas Passenger terminal offers many facilities that passengers are looking for. Being a busy port also means that their disability access is a priority. This also reflects in the White Bay Cruise terminal. Although White Bay Cruise terminal offers less facilities, they just provide the basics.
Overseas Passenger Terminal
Waiting Lounge- there is plenty of seating at the terminal before and after security.
Toilets- there are plenty of toilets throughout the terminal.
Shops- there are tourist shops inside the terminal. There are also plenty of shops in the Circular Quay.
Bars/Restaurants- there is the Cruise Bar which is attached to the terminal. This can be a lively bar at night. The terminal also has restaurants, wine bars and cafes so there is plenty to choose from without even having to leave the terminal.
Disability Access- There are passenger lifts and escalators within the terminal. If you need wheelchair facilities for your cruise or for when you come off the ship, please contact your cruise line in advance.
White Bay Cruise Terminal
Waiting Lounge- there is plenty of seating at the terminal before and after security.
Toilets- there are plenty of toilets throughout the terminal.
Shops- there are a few tourist shops within the terminal itself.
Bars/Restaurants- there is a small café in the terminal to grab a last minute hot drink and snack before boarding.
Disability Access- If you need wheelchair assistance through the terminal and boarding, you will need to make prior arrangements with your cruise line. The terminal has escalators and passenger lifts.
