If your cruise is a no-fly cruise, most cruise lines will allow you to take a good amount of luggage aboard, provided it fits in your cabin and does not pose a safety risk. Please note that if you are on a fly-cruise or using a transfer coach or train, you are subject to the baggage size, number, and weight restrictions of the airline or transport company, so please check these beforehand.
Azamara:
Maximum baggage weight is 90 kg
Carnival:
1 bag per person for cruises of 5 days or less. 2 bags if the cruise is more than 6. Each bag must be no more than 50lbs and 40x60cm wide, but no limit on height.
Celebrity:
90kg per cruiser (Galapagos ships are an exception)
Royal Caribbean:
90kg per guest
Cunard:
No limits on exact amount as long as it all fits in your room and is not a safety hazard. Each individual piece of luggage must weigh no more than 23 kg.
Fred. Olsen:
90kg weight limit, but items must weigh no more than 20 kg each for coach transfer handling.
P&O:
No total restrictions, but each piece must be less than 23 kg for handling.
Princess:
There is no restriction on the amount of baggage, but make sure each item is no more than 23 kg for handling.
Costa:
If cruising 7 nights or less, you are permitted one large suitcase and hand luggage. For cruises between 8 and 14 nights, you are allowed two suitcases. For cruises with a duration greater than this, 3 suitcases are permitted.
I also have a coach transfer and a flight. Will my luggage allowance be the same as the cruise line policy?
If you have booked a fly-cruise, you need to adhere to the baggage weight and dimension rules as set by the airline. Also, take care if doing a land-based tour as part of a cruise and stay package, or an internal flight on usually smaller planes, which have reduced capabilities when it comes to baggage weight and size. For further information on airline luggage allowance, please read What is the luggage allowance for my flight?.
If you are using UK coach transfers to get to/from the Cruise Port, please note there may be separate weight limits per case, due to Health & Safety. Please check your tickets for details.
If you are not sure about any baggage limits with your cruise line, airline, or other transport operators as part of your journey, please see their website or FAQs for specific luggage policies.
