There is an opportunity with P&O Cruises, where you can opt-in for a complimentary Automatic Upgrade, this is an exciting way for you to get more for your money.
These Automatic Upgrades are provided at the discretion of P&O Cruise and they are unable to take any requests.
You can select "Open to Any Upgrade", which means any cabin in the grade you have selected or of a higher grade. For example, you have an Inside cabin, and can be moved to any other Inside cabin or to any Outside cabin.
or
You can select "Upgrade to Next Stateroom Type", which means you can only move up to a higher grade. For example, you have an Inside cabin and can only be Auto Upgraded to an Outside cabin, not another Inside.
If you do request to opt-in for an Automatic Upgrade, the cruise line can move you from your current cabin, into what they consider to be a higher grade, regardless of the location of the cabin, or of it having an obstructed view.
Once you are given the Automatic Upgrade by the cruise line, you are unable to decline the offer or reinstate your original cabin. They can locate your cabin on any deck, in any location.
P&O Cruises does not guarantee that an upgrade will be made. They will also not guarantee that linked bookings will all receive an upgrade, and even if they do, that the cabins will be near each other or of the same category. Please consider carefully whether you wish to be considered for an automatic upgrade.
Should you wish to book a cabin to be near other members of your party or a specific location on-board, you should not opt for the automatic upgrade, unless you are happy to be moved away from your original cabin location.
Please note, if you have booked the P&O Cruise Saver or Early Saver fare code, then you cannot decline the Auto Upgrade option.
